So, What’s the Best Selling Air Conditioning Compressor?

The best-selling AC Compressor in the world is the 10601N. Currently operating in millions of different vehicles, this Air Conditioning Compressor trumps sales of any other A/C pump in history. From 1996 – 2001, this HT6 Compressor can be found on a Chevrolet Tahoe.

The main problem with this A/C Compressor was that it would leak between the two cylinder bodies. Where these met, a gasket was put in place to help prevent leaks. However, as the Compressor would expand with heat, and contract when it cooled down, the gasket would break apart, over time.
